I’ve written about Houzz and Pinterest and how these websites are changing how our clients prepare for creating a new home. But here in the firm, we have two other favorite sites that I’d like to share. The web can be a great source of inspiration.
For those of us that love all things modern, there is Design Milk. Never heard of it? We hadn’t either until two years ago when a client pulled it up on her laptop for us. Design Milk is a website devoted to modern design, modern architecture and basically anything else that’s modern. It’s not a retail shop, just a neat place to surf online and check out the latest in modern stuff. Be forewarned though… you can easily lose yourself for several hours here. http://design-milk.com/
For the traditional architecture fan, take a look at the Sears Catalog Home Plans Archives online. I love these plans. I can’t imagine being able to build a house for $3,000 – or less. They are fun to look through and the architecture and simplicity of the homes are sweet.
Feel Free to check them out and let me know what you think.
