Curved concrete, as you might imagine, is a bit tricky.
We have a new modern, gulf front residence going up and the entire structure is designed with the idea of creating a private interior courtyard featuring a pool with a fire pit in the center. The house is curved like a horseshoe with magnificent walls of glass facing the ocean. It’s early in the construction process, but you can see how it’s shaping up. To support the large spans of folding glass doors and curved openings that face the gulf, steal beams had to be installed. Concrete block may be used for many of the walls, but at times it had to be poured in place to handle the structural requirements of certain areas and to curve over and around certain arched openings. We are really excited about how this is going to turn out so stay tuned for more photos as the project unfolds.
Kudos to Regal Stephens Construction and Cox Pools on all their hard work to make this happen.
