Random new products

Pretty much every week we get a new architectural magazine in the mail filled with ads on some of the coolest new products. This past week, I saw ads for three that were – to be honest – pretty cool. I could really use these three inventions in my life right now.

1. French-door wall oven by GE. Why has this not been around until now? One of the things that I find most annoying in the kitchen is that whenever I am getting something big and heavy in or out of the oven, I have to lean over the huge door. Maybe if you have long arms, this is not a problem. But for me, it’s always been a hassle and it looks like I’m not the only one. Behold: the French Door Wall Oven. How awesome is that?

2. How many times do I try to leave a public bathroom and not touch the door? Pretty much every time. So I was pleasantly surprised to see an ad for a way to “make a clean getaway” in a public bathroom. You can even buy the kit and retrofit an existing door. Wish every public bathroom would install this! Thank you Norton Door Controls.CCoo

3. My personal favorite of the week: the Madrax RepairSTAN. This one is a little more tailored to the cycling crowd, but WOW. What I wouldn’t give for the local county commission to install these along some of the main bike routes. The RepairSTAN™ is a convenient way for cyclists to service their bikes while on the go. The RepairStan™ has basic tools for cyclists to keep their bikes in good riding condition. RepairStan™ includes manual air pump with Presta and Schrader valve head, Phillips screwdriver, straight screwdriver, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8mm Allen wrenches, headset wrench, pedal wrench, 8, 9, 10, 11mm open wrenches, 8, 9, 10, 11mm open wrenches, tire lever (1), adjustable wrench. Now that is a cool invention. 🙂
