Situated along the bluffs of the Alabama River and in the center of the downtown historical district, this home was in rather poor condition when the owners recently purchased it with plans to turn it into a small professional office. The photos above show how meticulous measurements were taken and the progress of the construction job thus far. Some of the biggest changes taking place on the job site include safeguarding the home's interior and exterior historical elements, ensuring exterior paint colors meet the city's historical design guide and re-crafting damaged historical architectural elements. In addition, because the home is planed for use as an office, commercial building requirements including disability and fire codes have to be met - a challenge when combining the old and new. The first section of pictures are of the new renovation. The latter pictures show what was removed.
